Strawberry Kale Smoothie


Happy New Year 2015! I am so excited to the year ahead and what it will bring Yummy Sprout. I have a great selection of classes coming up in the next few months with plans to add a few more. 2014 was a great year, I took a look at the top recipes (in terms of readership) and believe it or not the winner (by a 20K landslide) was Homemade Fruit Water, followed by No-Bake Granola Bars, Lettuce Wraps with Beet Pesto, Fruit'shi, and Playdate Snack Mix.


So let's start the year out right with a healthy smoothie the entire family will love...it basically tastes like a milkshake! Enjoy.


Chocolate Strawberry Kale Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Kale, frozen

1/2 cup Strawberries, fresh or frozen

2 Banana, peeled and frozen

2 Dates, pitted

1 tbsp Organic Chocolate Chips

1 cup Milk (I use Coconut)


Using a blender, purée the milk, chocolate chips and dates together until smooth (about 2 minutes). Add the remaining ingredients and whizz until thick and creamy. You may need to add additional milk to thin to your desired consistency. Makes about 3-4 medium smoothies.
